Job Description Summary:

Working on the GE Haliade-X platform, the Service Lead will play a key role operating and maintaining this next generation turbine on what will be the world's largest offshore project.

Responsible for co-ordination of planned and corrective operational activities, providing team leadership and full responsibility for rotation readiness of work for the short-term plan.

Working as an integral part of a wider planning team who will help support preparation of work ready for the Service Lead to execute.

The Service Lead will cover the full scope of task execution from preparation of parts/tools, setting people to work to reporting of task progress and turbine status.

Primary location will be offshore, on rotation.

The onshore base location of Dogger Bank O&M Base is at the Port of Tyne.

Responsibilities:


  • Ensure safe turbine maintenance operations are carried out, with high standards of quality, delivered to budget and according to the defined schedule, recording and tracking relevant KPIs and reporting on progress, deviations to plans and mitigations.
  • Demonstrate a high safety standard and ensure all working parties comply with Emergency Response Plans according to the local, site and GE policies with the support of required stakeholders.
  • Lead the operational team onboard the SOV. Be fully responsible for the execution of all servicerelated activities with respect to SQDC within your area of responsibility.
  • Lead and coordinate the safe onboarding/offboarding of technicians and equipment with the operational vessel and all working parties in line with procedures.
  • Be the point of contact for the business in all daytoday matters on site.
  • Manage the SOV storage facility to ensure good stock management and support in the procurement process in goods receipting and returns.
  • Coordinate and perform administrative activities as per relevant service processes, including tracking site activities, evaluating planned technician levels, planned service schedules, requisitions, documentation requirements and managing availability.
  • Prepare and check tooling, material, parts and equipment in advance of works for daily deployment. Ensure consumption is logged and stock returned and monitored.
  • Lead the Production Based Availability Operational plan that amplifies the synergies between operator and GE through advanced setup and ensures high levels of production.
  • Lead the continual improvement culture within your area of responsibility, ensuring that high quality knowledge is retained and improved, and facilitating feedback to required stakeholders across the business.
  • Lead issue resolution, process & quality improvements, and business initiatives with technical support from other departments.
  • Support recruitment and talent development model to ensure continual improvement and progression for high performing technical and nontechnical Operational roles.
  • Monitor and manage the productionbased availability metrics within your area of responsibility and ensure that transparent recording and reporting is aligned with the customer.
  • Management of calibrated tools with Port based teams, ensuring quarantined tools are isolated and packaged for repair.
  • Compiling part requirements for reactive works and working with wider technical and procurement to ensure a swift resolution.
  • Monitoring site conditions with determined allowable working limits to ensure the successful completion of daily planned and unplanned maintenance in a safe manner.
  • Manifesting and recording of technician's movements and daily tasks to align with the customers' requirements.

Travel Expectations

  • The role will be predominantly based offshore on the Dogger Bank project.
  • The role requires international travel.
  • Ability and willingness to work from the Port of Tyne O&M base or other GE sites when required.

Education / Professional Experience

  • Demonstrate extensive professional experience of efficiently coordinating workloads and working parties.
  • Significant experience of wind maintenance operations is desirable but not essential.
  • Proven ability to work in a crossfunctional, global environment, with remote teams as a strong team player who can enable change and get work over the line.

  • Renewable wind experience or experience in a related discipline.
