- Involved in the full project life cycle, from project definition, preparing and evaluating tenders, conceptual and front-end design development, detail design reviews, HAZID/HAZCON/HAZOP sessions into supporting construction, installation, commissioning and project completion.
- Providing cable engineering support across multiple projects by producing or reviewing outline cable system designs during development phases, including: review and assessment of technology options, underground cable routing selection, producing current rating calculations using CYMCAP software and assessment of interface requirements.
- Developing technical scopes and specifications for new underground cable projects as well as modifications to existing assets.
- Reviewing cable system prequalification and type testing reports in preparation for client approval, reviewing and verifying contractor/consultant detailed underground cable system designs, witnessing factory and relevant discipline site acceptance testing.
- Providing technical support to site teams to ensure quality of installations and cable commissioning activities.
- Evaluate tenders and procure and manage specialist services from consultants.
- Promoting and managing safety within your assigned projects through the implementation of CDM procedures and practices, ensuring the project engineering is compliant with company, HSE and industry regulations.
- Working closely with Engineering Managers and Project Managers to ensure that Engineering and Quality risks are identified and mitigated
- Providing technical support on high profile projects or technically complex issues.
