We are now looking for a Community Skills Coordinator to join our team on a part-time, fixed-term contract to work with people in St Austell and Redruth on what matters to them.

The Role
As the Community Skills Coordinator you will design and deliver courses for people to develop skills that matter to them.
You will work with the Community Skills Tutor to deliver courses such as Returning to Work and Volunteering skills in a non-judgemental and trauma informed way.
You will manage a small case load of members of the CN4C community and help them to identify and overcome their personal barriers to achieving their goals, focused on training, education, volunteering and work.
You will be responsible for supporting participants in taking positive action, and at the cetnre of this is the indivuals and what matterst to them.
You will build trusting relationships with individuals, focusing on what matters to people, and working with them, not doing to them.
You will join the Coordinator team, supporting Managers with report writing, supporting delivery teams and supporting cross-organisational working to provide the best support possible for community members.
About You
To join us as a Community Skills Coordinator, you will need:
- To be able to manage a caseload
- Level 3 or above Information, Advice and Guidance, Mentoring or Coaching qualification, or equivalent experience
- To be able to design and deliver coaching and courses
- To be able to work independently and as part of a team
- Understand how to overcome the barriers for people from disadvavntaged communities and for people facing multiple and complex needs
- Have an understanding of the need for confidentiality and equal opportunities
- Have good interpersonal skills
- Have experience of working with people with multiple and complex needs
- To be able to support people in emotional distress
- Ability to arrange and deliver community activities
- A creative approach to problem solving
- A high level of time management and planning skills
- Ability to motivate people to make positive change
- Able to perform to targets and deadlines
- Ability to manage competing demands
- Computer proficiency
- Flexible to work evenings and weekends
- Good communication skills
- Level 2 English and Maths qualification, or willingness to work towards a Level 2
This is a part-time role working 18.75 hours per week on a fixed-term contract until 31st March 2025.
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends will be required, as will the ability to travel to different locations at short notice.
