The Role
The position of Group Head of Finance will support the Chief Financial Officer by taking ownership of the function.

The Chief Financial Officer will focus on commercial and strategic activities, providing brilliant freedom & autonomy for the Group Head of Finance to shape & develop the function to solidify the foundations and provide the perfect platform for future growth, expansion and evolution.


Once ownership of the finance function is achieved, the Chief Financial Officer is happy for their door to knocked and exposure provided to the forward thinking and strategic activities within the group.

The Chief Financial Officer is an extremely talented individual with exceptional commercial acumen, providing a true mentor figure that can ensure aspiring finance professionals reach their full potential.


The key components of the role will include:

  • Ownership of the finance function
  • Supporting and deputising for the Chief Financial Officer
  • Hiring, training and developing of the finance team
  • Business parenting with the SMT and Board
  • Building relationships and liaising with external stakeholders
  • Auditors, Advisers etc.
  • Involvement in high profile projects
  • Reviewing and developing processes, procedures, controls & systems
  • Preparation and consolidation of statutory accounting & returns
  • Ownership of balance sheet & reconciliations
  • Assisting with taxation returns
  • Production and presentation of monthly reporting packs
  • Budget setting and monitoring
  • Forecasting and cashflow analysis
  • Variance analysis with ability to understand and challenge variances
  • Overseeing monthend


  • Overseeing transactional finance

  • AP, AR, credit control

The role of Group Head of Finance is based in Edinburgh with excellent hybrid working - 2 days in the office and 3 days home working
