    Description

    The Operations Manager (Formulation) has first line accountability for achieving, maintaining and improving the performance of the manufacturing area under their control and the associated team. Works with the Head of Secondary Manufacturing to interpret strategy and to set targets for area performance in Safety, Quality, Service, Cost and People development. Develops and commits to tactical plans to meet these targets and consistently delivers against them.

    Driving the delivery of the Secondary Organisation within own area to ensure successful commercial campaigns and projects. These responsibilities are executed through the direct line management of the manufacturing team and other technical experts.

    Responsibilities :

    • Manages the planning, implementation and maintenance of manufacturing methods, processes and operations for assigned production area.

    • Manages production activities to minimize disruptions to manufacturing schedules, either directly or through team leaders.

    • Works closely with quality groups to ensure strict compliance with good manufacturing practices guidelines at all times.

    • Develops and implements manufacturing policies and procedures and ensures availability of written instructions to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and cGMP regulations

    • Ensures the effective use of materials, equipment and employees in producing quality products

    • Formulates and recommends manufacturing policies, procedures, and programs.

    • Provides direction, support and prioritization for process improvements

    • Ensures budgets, schedules and performance requirements are met

    Qualifications :

    • Bachelor degree, or equivalent in related field, or equivalent vocational or technical education

    • Substantial experience in manufacturing

    • Proven managerial experience in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or biological industry

    • Knowledge and experience in formulation, filling, automated inspection, or packaging technologies is preferred.

    • Demonstrated knowledge of GMPs and FDA requirements is required.
