- Oversees and coordinates tax compliance activities across the region to ensure timely and accurate tax payments and reporting, in collaboration with local finance and accounting teams and external advisors.
- Advises internal teams on tax implications of business operations, supply chain, and treasury activities in the region with a strong focus on VAT.
- Develops and executes tax strategies that optimize the company's tax position, including managing transfer pricing, credits and incentives, and tax-efficient structuring of business operations.
- Assists in the management of tax audits, responding to inquiries from tax authorities, and coordinating with local finance teams and external auditors to ensure accurate and timely resolution of tax issues.
- Collaborates with the finance team to analyze the tax implications of business decisions, investments, and transactions. Provides guidance on the financial impact of tax planning and compliance efforts.
- Partners with US tax team to ensure appropriate implementation of group transfer pricing policies and compliance with local transfer pricing documentation and related filings.
- Identifies potential tax risks and opportunities and develops strategies to mitigate risks while maximizing tax benefits.
- Stays up-to-date with changes in local tax laws and regulations, evaluates their impact on the company, and develops tax policies and guidelines. Provides advice on tax implications of global economic and regulatory developments.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including legal, accounting, and finance, to address tax issues and ensure alignment with the company's financial and operational objectives.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field required, with a preference towards candidates with a master's degree.
- Preference will be given to candidates with the CPA, CA, or equivalent professional designations.
- 10+ years of relevant tax experience in a multinational company and/or public accounting firm, with a strong background in VAT and experience in the manufacturing industry.
- Ability to communicate complex tax concepts effectively to non-tax professionals.
- Proactive attitude with a commitment to delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Language skills in French and/or Italian are a plus.
