Description
Applications are invited for the Foundation Year 3 programme in Emergency Medicine based at Ysbyty Gwynedd, Bangor, North Wales. These posts are identical to our educationally-approved F2/ST1 level posts.

We are happy to welcome doctors who wish to just have a taster of EM prior to doing something else, or those committed to a career in the specialty.

The Emergency Department is friendly, supportive, informal and a fun place to work. We are a forward thinking and enthusiastic department, striving to become a centre of excellence in rural Emergency Medicine.

This post is identical in every way to our deanery training posts.

There's protected teaching every Thursday afternoon within the ED, plus a variety of other junior doctor tutorials and teaching sessions.

You will also have an educational supervisor to help you achieve your career aims. Plus, we can offer you up to 11 days personal development time to attend suitable training opportunities.

This is in addition to study leave which comes with a budget to fund your choice of life support course.

You will have excellent shop-floor support from enthusiastic senior and middle grade doctors, and the rota is carefully designed to minimise fatigue, with night shifts being a maximum of four shifts in a row.

For doctors who can commit to a 12 month post we can offer less than full time working either as annualised hours (perfect if you want to go off on expeditions) or a LTFT weekly rota (to combine medicine with another passion or just optimise your life work balance).

If you relish a challenge, and have a passion to help others or simply fancy a fresh start, then Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB) North Wales has all the right ingredients.

The largest health organisation in Wales, providing a full range of primary, community, mental health, acute and elective hospital services for a population of around 700,000 across North Wales.

Join our team and get the support you need, in line with our Organisational Values and 'Proud to Lead' competence framework.

Enjoy being part of working with engaged leadership at all levels, and be assured we are committed to promoting equality and diversity, and are proud to welcome applicants under the 'Disability Confident Employer' Scheme.

You can find further information about the role in the detailed Job Description and Person Specification which can be found in the Supporting Documents section.
