Newham Talking Therapies (NTT), Centre for Clinical Excellence is looking to recruit an Employment and Welfare Advisor to join a high performing and creative team.

As the Employment Advisor (EA), under the supervision of the manager, the post-holder will manage a caseload of people who have experienced mental health distress who wish to retain and/or gain paid employment as part of their recovery goals, through delivering the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) approach to vocational rehabilitation.


The post-holder will also be responsible for providing advice around welfare related issues (e.g., benefit claims, housing etc.) and sign-post to external agencies as required for specialist advice and support e.g., for legal and immigration matters.


The post-holder will also provide vocational reablement support to those who wish to pursue voluntary placements or access training relating to expanding confidence, skills and knowledge as part of achieving their preferred vocational choices and goals.


The post-holder will work directly with relevant stakeholders including educational providers to secure education and employers to source employment opportunities, help to solve in-work issues affecting job retention or settling into new employment, whilst providing on-going support.

The post-holder will also prepare individuals for employment through assessing each person's individual educational/ employment needs through vocational profiling.
