About us:

UCL Innovation and Enterprise provides UCL's structures for engaging with business for commercial and societal benefit.

This exciting role will work in our high-growth SME business partnerships team, supporting the Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) programme, which facilitates innovation in businesses and non-profit organisations.

The KTP programme is a unique, national programme, co-funded bybusinesses and UK government funding bodies (usuallyInnovate UK), which enables a partner organisation to bring in new skills and the latest academic thinking to deliver a specific, strategic innovation project - for example, a new product or service.

There is growing demand for the KTP programme from both academics and businesses nationwide. Given the depth and breadth of UCL's research, the potential for growth in KTPs is huge. This post is being advertised in response to this potential.

About the role:

The role would suit an individual who has some experience of account, process or project management with a keen interest in supporting UCL academics to bring their ideas to life in industry.

The post-holder will be a good problem-solver who is comfortable pro-actively reaching out to teams across UCL to get things done as efficiently as possible.

The KTP Coordinator will be fully trained and supported by the KTP team to:

  • Manage the live KTP portfolio with businesses and academics from across UCL. Most KTPs are currently in the Bartlett and Engineering faculties.
  • Enable businesses to tap into wider opportunities for collaboration with UCL.
  • Work with central and departmental functions to support the submission and delivery of the KTP portfolio.

Please note that this is a fixed term post until
end of July 2024.

About you:

You'll have Project Management experience demonstrated by a proven experience in successfully initiating, managing and completing projects in an academic, commercial or third sector environment as well as experience of working on collaborations between a university and the private sector.

You'll also have Knowledge of innovation programmes such as KTP (Knowledge Transfer Partnership).
