Information about the Role:
As a Support Worker at Oakhaven Care Home the main function of your role will be to provide exceptional care to service users, under the direction of the Registered Manager, in accordance with best practice, and in line with policy, procedures and legislation.
Working as a Support Worker at Oakhaven your duties will include the following:
- Assist service users individually as required to support them with daily routines and activities.
- Providing emotional support for an individual and at times their families.
- Maintain the hygiene, dignity, health and safety of service users at all times.
- Ensure that service users' rights are protected.
- Encouraging and supporting the development of personal skills through hobbies and interests.
- Observe service users ensuring a safe environment, protecting them from harm.
- Working with other healthcare professionals to ensure that all care needs meet the highest possible standards.
- Assist in the design and administration of an evaluation of the care standards and care service provision.
- Maintain an awareness of Health and Safety requirements.

Oakhaven is a delightfully friendly residential care home for adults. We are located near Roundhay Park in the green and pleasant residential area of Oakwood, Leeds.
As a smaller than average residential home, our amazing and dedicated staff team can spend lots of time supporting the 24 adults living in our homely surroundings with their day to day living and ensure they live safely.
Necessary Experience or Qualifications to work as a Support worker:
- Previous experience working as a Support Worker, Healthcare Assistant, Domiciliary Carer or Senior preferred.
- Caring, kind and considerate.
- Passionate about making a difference in someone else's life.
- Good communication skills.
- Able handle sometimes challenging situations.
- Able to build relationships with many different people and work flexibly.
- Level 2 or 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (desirable).
