    Machine and Production operative required for a busy family run International warehouse


    Benefits
    Salary will increase by 6% after a 3 month probation period
    Training provided
    Mon to Fri
    40 hours per week

    This is a physical job and an appropriate level of fitness will be required to complete the daily tasks

    You will report to the Production Supervisor and learn to use and become proficient on various machines including the CMC Cevenini automatic lathe.

    This is a busy and varied role and will involve liaison with all areas of the business from sales to accounts to the rest of the warehouse.


    Key Responsibilities


    • To understand and learn how to operate and use the machines
    • To manage and develop an effective production operation
    • Ensure productivity, efficiency and compliance
    • Ensure production, packing and preparation is maintained against deadlines
    • Assist in the maintaining of standards of health & safety, hygiene and security, and that any accidents are reported and recorded
    • Ensure all warehouse equipment is maintained in a safe and productive manner
    • Ensure that we have sufficient stock on the shelves from production
    • When necessary, provide sickness/holiday cover within the production day to day operations by working alongside colleagues as required

    To comply with company and H&S guidelines with particular lifting heavy goods and cleanliness
    To undertake any other reasonable but related task to aid the efficient running of the company
    To adhere to Staff Handbook guidelines and procedure.


    Education and Qualifications
    GCSE or equivalent Maths and English to Grade C/4 or above
    L2/L3 apprenticeship in Warehouse & Logistics or engineering



    Knowledge and Skills

    Strong administrative skills
    Computer literacy, especially the ability to use Excel
    Excellent communication skills at all levels
    Accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects
    Experience in operating machinery in a manufacturing environment
    Take an active and enthusiastic approach to training including H&S eg Fire Warden, First Aider etc
    Experience of using CMC Cevenini automatic lathe
    Experience of using rewinding machines

    Keen to learn, willing to ask questions and to quickly absorb new information
    Conscientious and motivated to support other members of the team
    An excellent team player, personable and able to get on with colleagues in all teams
    Able to work under pressure in a busy warehouse
