    Commercial Analyst

    Hybrid (1-2 days a week in the office)

    Up to £50k

    I'm currently recruiting for a Commercial Analyst to join a growing FP&A team in Central London. The role will identify trends in client retention that can be used to increase client lifetime value and provide actionable reports to operational teams that reduce churn and improve delivery metrics.

    Context:

    The Commercial Analyst is accountable through the business cycle for:

    • Delivering an effective client retention model that continues to support the ongoing needs of the business and its teams.
    • Continually developing the client retention model, so that it delivers data for both core and adjacent products.
    • Working effectively with stakeholders across the business to report on trends and analyses that provide a better understanding of the market and our client journey.

    Accountabilities:

    Planning:

    • Work with stakeholders in IT, Operations and FP&A to develop the specification of the client retention model for the Group, with an initial focus on the core product, ensuring it meets the needs of the business targets and KPIs.
    • Plan and develop the client retention model to cover the client journey of quoting, contracting and delivering new and existing clients.
    • Collaborate with IT to understand where existing Group platforms will need to be developed to enable client retention model to operate smoothly and efficiently.
    • Develop and execute a plan that effectively transfers all existing 2023 Group data, providing a base data level that can be built upon in future years. Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop a longer-term strategy for the implementation of the client retention model to cover adjacent products.

    Delivering:

    • Work closely with the IT team to ensure a successful rollout of the client retention model to key users across the Group. Effectively manage the daily operation of the client retention model to ensure it accurately reflects the clients' journey.
    • Develop and deliver reports that are both actionable and provide high-level insights for a range of stakeholders across the business. Support the delivery of increased client retention for a range of stakeholders across the business.
    • Plan and deliver training to all key client retention model users.

    Reporting:

    • Report on the renewal efficiency of existing clients and their retention rates.
    • Report on the time taken from Stage 1 to Stage 2 , identifying blockers preventing clients from achieving certification in line with business KPI's and provide solutions for improvement.
    • Review performance, analyse trends and identify root causes.
    • Regularly review end to end performance of new and existing clients providing stakeholders with key information as required.
    • Support the FP&A team in forecasting future client renewal rates and efficiency enabling the business to identify current and future market changes.
    • Ownership of new business and existing client backlog data, ensuring it is an accurate reflection of the business performance.

    Success criteria:

    • Deliver the successful planning and implementation of the client retention model across the Group, ensuring it meets the changing needs of the business.
    • Collaborate effectively with key stakeholders across the Group, identifying opportunities to improve and develop the platform.
    • Effectively train, and onboard all key users so that they can use the platform effectively to drive improvements in their business area.

    Requirements:

    • Experienced in managing large and granular data sets in excel, SQL and BI tools.
    • Experience of working with client renewals.
    • End-to-end project management.
    • Able to work in a fast pace environment and be trusted to deliver the client retention model.
    • Experience of engaging stakeholders from across the group.
    • Able to understand technical detail and convey it simply and clearly.
    • Excellent communication skills with proven ability to manage relationships across multiple/senior stakeholders.
    • Analytical and keen to drive improvements.
