Who you are?

As the Junior Development Manager, you will have the exciting opportunity to provide high-level design and establish the basic structure of systems in use by M Group Services to ensure it is consistent and operationally defined.

You will be tasked with managinga small team of developers as well as overseeing and managing relationships with our outsource provider

The Development function is well established and mature, we are looking for someone who would like to develop their career, to step into a managerial role or someone who is looking to move from a small Development function to a larger function.

As the
Junior D evelo pment Manager, you'll get the opportunity to:

  • Provide the framework and work with the development outsourcer (Zensar) to produce software development processes and standards and ensure that they are followed
  • Provide the framework and work with the software testing outsourcer (Sopra Steria) to produce software testing processes and standards and ensure that they are followed
  • Maintain regular communication between the Business Change Manager, Business Analysts and Zensar to understand their requirements and ensure that the highlevel design remains fit for purpose
  • Review the systems development service being delivered to M Group Services working with Zensar to implement any proposed changes
  • Review the testing service being delivered to M Group Services working with Sopra Steria to implement any proposed changes

What you'll bring?:


  • Relevant previous experience in a similar role or if you are currently in a deputy role looking for career progression
  • Extensive knowledge of IT systems and a high degree of technical skill
  • Previous experience of software development and system integration and confident in managing the end to end software development cycle is essential to the success of this role
  • Experience of supporting and developing systems in an enterprise environment
  • Experience in supplier/relationship management and dispute resolution
  • Knowledge of Prince 2 project management methodology
  • Good financial and budgeting experience
  • Degree or equivalent professional qualification desirable but not essential
