    Job summaryWe have an exciting opportunity for someone to lead the estate and capital development agenda at Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as the Head of Estate Development.

    This role is fundamental to the team and to SFH as you will oversee and manage the team in delivery of all capital, minor works schemes, land and property and management of space within the organisation.

    As a key member of the team you will provide senior leadership and technical advice across the organisation for the Estate Development agenda working closely and developing key relationship with clinical and non-clinical team leaders.

    You must have a proven track record of progressive leadership, development and facilitating change in a culture of continuous service improvement.

    Self-motivation is essential along with a passion, drive, adaptability and resilience to cope with change within the Trust and wider NHS.Main duties of the jobUnder the direction of the Head of Estates & Facilities, the post holder will take line management responsibility for any staff working in the Estate Development Team.

    To provide monthly reports to the Head of Estates and Facilities detailing progress of all projects against KPI's of time, cost and quality.

    Responsibility for research and development by regularly undertaking Research and Development activities associated with Estates and Capital/minor work Projects and conducting a range of estates surveys and audits.

    The post holder will have delegated budget responsibility for Capital Programmes which have approval from Trust Board for the values identified.

    Develop and implement an ISO accredited capital procedures manual. Ensure that all tendering procedures are in accordance with Trust and NHS policy.

    Ensure the Property database is updated, has the correct tenure information, rent reviews, break options, rent, landlord and tenants' details, etc.

    EssentialHighly developed negotiation and leadership skillsProven line management experience with team leadership skillsAbility to demonstrate a proven track record in a similar roleAbility to provide expert advice on a range of related issues to senior management, clinicians, trust board and othersDetailed knowledge and experience of construction legislation including planning and compliance regulationsExtensive knowledge of project management methodologies and techniques for planning, monitoring, and controlling projects, including risk managementDetailed understanding of renewables and sustainable construction including BREEAMReport writing skillsHighly customer focussed/orientated.
