THE COMPANY:

Our client is an innovative and forward-thinking alternative banking group, with exciting growth plans.


They are seeking a highly skilled and experienced MLRO to join the Team and help out on a 'pre-launch' basis.

You will NOT be registered with the FCA


THE RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Liaising with key internal stakeholders (e.g. Legal, Risk, compliance etc) and external (e.g. Regulators, advisors, vendors, partners etc) stakeholders as required.
  • Continually monitor and review all developments within the regulatory environment and actively develop technical knowledge
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with requirements of all statute and regulations relevant to a business regulated by the FCA as an EMI
  • Provide advice to senior management and the business on compliance issues as well as regulatory trends
  • Develop, maintain and implement Compliance and Risk policies, procedures, manuals, and programs to reflect best practice with regulatory and industry requirements
  • Build, maintain and manage the Company's relationship with the FCA
  • Provide strategic, actionable advice and guidance to the CCO on JMLSG, FCA, UK Bribery Act, relevant Sanctions lists, and any other applicable rules and guidance
  • Overseeing the drafting and ongoing maintenance of robust policies and procedures as it pertains to UK
  • The submission of ad hoc & routine reporting to the FCA, including formal notifications (where required)
  • In accordance with the Suspicious Activity Report Policy, determining, filing, and managing the investigation of suspicious activity and reporting where appropriate with the National Crime Agency
  • Ensure that UK specific training and awareness is provided to new and existing staff and that this is reviewed and updated as required
  • Working with product and engineering and communicating and advising on products, services, and requirements in a detailed and operationally sound manner

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:


  • Hold currently or have recently held SMF 1
  • It would be expected that the appointee would have a minimum of 5 years of experience of seniority and experience in appropriate aligned activities.
