ScottishPower are delighted to bring to market a new role within our Businesses to join as Senior Internal Auditor.

Due to growth in the Internal Audit team, this new position will report directly to the Head of Audit for the business unit and will be directly responsible for the delivery of high complexity audit reviews from the ScottishPower Internal Audit plan and provision of high quality, independent assurance to a wide range of stakeholders, including Senior Management and the Audit & Compliance Committee.


_ Responsibilities_:


As Senior Internal Auditor, you'll contribute to the development and delivery of the annual audit plan for an assigned business unit to ensure it provides assurance over the key risks, governance and internal control systems of the business unit and meets ScottishPower requirements in line with Iberdrola global standards.


In this position, you'll own a discrete set of assigned audits with responsibility to deliver within agreed timescales ensuring they are fully aligned to the group quality procedures.


Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Responsible for endtoend delivery of internal audit reviews across planning, fieldwork and reporting, including clearance with senior business management.
  • Enabling and influencing to improve governance, risk management and internal control processes.
  • Perform proactive risk management and engage with senior stakeholders to ensure assigned audit works are focussed on the highest risk areas.
  • Support and advise the business to improve and strengthen the business control environment.
  • Provide robust independent assurance and recommendations to the Senior Management Team for improvement on management processes and controls.
  • Monitor and report on management actions and escalate to Business Unit Head of Internal Audit where appropriate.
  • Contributing to the audit innovation plan that includes developing the audit methodology and approach to maximise efficiency and overage, and adoption of best practices. This includes ensuring a client focus, working with agility, working in an aligned way with other assurance providers within ScottishPower and driving the use of automated audit techniques and data analytics.

_Skills and Requirements_:


You'll have highly developed communication and influencing skills particularly at senior management level and process a high degree of professional integrity.

You will be a proactive self-starter and innovator who actively seeks improvements in everything we do.

Experience of influencing and supporting a partnering approach with the business in relation to audit activity and promoting a robust culture of risk management, governance and controls including providing advice and support for emerging risk areas and implementation of new frameworks to a wide and diverse range of senior stakeholders


You'll have strong commercial awareness and able to present concise and clear findings and conclusions to senior management, providing convincing rationale to influence actions and processes.

Ability to promote excellent performance, team working and collaboration.
