  • This role is for a temporary period of 6 months._

Key Purpose of the Role:


As a Welfare Van Driver, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining a mobile welfare van equipped with a canteen and toilet facilities.

Your primary duty will be to transport the welfare van to various locations, ensuring that workers have access to essential amenities during their shifts.

This role requires excellent driving skills, a welcoming attitude, and attention to detail to ensure the welfare unit operates smoothly and meets the required standards.


Key Accountabilities:


  • Safely operate the welfare van to transport it to designated locations, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
  • Plan efficient routes to ensure timely arrival at different work sites, considering factors such as traffic conditions and distance.
  • Conduct routine inspections of the welfare van to ensure it is in proper working condition, including checking the canteen and toilet facilities for cleanliness and functionality.
  • Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks as needed or coordinate with the Fleet manager for more extensive repairs.
  • Maintain a welcoming and comfortable environment within the welfare van.
  • Manage inventory levels of essential items such as toilet paper, soap, and hand sanitizer for the toilet facilities.
  • Meet all relevant health and safety regulations.
  • Conduct regular checks of safety equipment within the welfare van, such as fire extinguishers and first aid kits, and ensure they are properly maintained.

Qualifications & Training:


  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Previous experience in driving commercial vehicles is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under mínimal supervision.
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance.
  • Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
