Position Summary
We are seeking to hire Risk Consultant to join our London Enterprise Risk Management team.
The role gives great exposure to a range of products and territories and provides the potential for further career development.

Key Responsibilities
- Play a key role in embedding the risk management framework to ensure that enterprise risk management and a strong risk culture are embedded in the CNA Hardy operations
- Support the development of risk appetites and support risk owners to manage within these
- Support the Risk Director to ensure that risk owners are empowered to take responsibility for their risks, through discussion and challenge, and providing support to ensure that risk are appropriately mitigated
- Assist in the maintenance the risk register, the risk system and associated reporting
- Assist in the documentation of the ORSA report
- Assist in the process of setting regulatory capital requirements both using the Internal Model and Standard Formula calculations
- Support Risk Director in providing the Risk Committees and Boards with a clear understanding of the risk position and issues facing the firm, through appropriate reporting to help them reach informed decisions
- Help to conduct risk reviews, ensuring that material business developments are reviewed and challenged to ensure that risk to the business are identified and appropriately mitigated
- Support the purchase of the Corporate Insurances
- Support other Riskfocused activities as required (e.g. Internal Model validation, emerging risks)
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- Good experience in an enterprise risk management role or a closely related discipline (e.g. Cat Risk Management, Operational Risk Management)
- Demonstrable capability to take on more senior level roles in future career steps
- Excellent commercial acumen and track record of working collaboratively across insurance disciplines in a company, syndicate or consulting environment: Underwriting, Executive Management, Risk, Claims, Finance, Reinsurance
- Preference for experience in commercial nonlife insurance
- Strong knowledge of UK and European regulatory requirement (e.g. ORSA, system of governance requirements)
- Strong technical skills with deep knowledge of risk management methodologies used across the industry
- Strong communicator, ability to distil complex issues into insightful management information and to deliver presentations with confidence
- Good knowledge of insurance and reinsurance products
- Expert IT systems skills, comfortable using Office software and data analytics tools and techniques
Education and Experience
- Educated to a minimum of degree level in a relevant field
- Professional qualification relevant to risk management or to nonlife insurance preferred
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in enterprise risk management or a related discipline
