We are seeking an enthusiastic cook to work within our short breaks children's home. The Cygnets offers overnight short breaks to children and young people aged between 5 and 18 years old, who have a learning disability, including those with a complex health need and/or Autistic Spectrum Disorder.

We are looking for a creative and versatile individual who will be prepared to work 18.5 hours flexibly, on a 4 days on, 4 days off rota that covers 7 days and includes weekends and some bank holidays.

Applicants will be required to prepare and provide healthy, well balanced, nutritional meals, whilst catering for any special dietary requirements. You will work alongside another cook and have the responsibility for the day to day running of the kitchen and ensuring compliance with relevant Health & Safety and Food Hygiene requirements and good practice standards.

The successful candidate will liaise with young people where appropriate in the completion of, menus and special requirements, follow the cleaning rota and complete allocated daily tasks to ensure the appropriate standards are maintained to a high level, and carry out regular checks of kitchen equipment.
