    Fire & Security Role: Are you an Operations Manager supporting Project, Small Works, and Service Managers?

    Paying up to £60k

    About the role:

    The Operations Engineering Manager is responsible for supervising and providing necessary support to the Project, Small Works, and Service Managers. This position is responsible for ensuring success with Grantfen's customers and suppliers, as well as liaising with the Operations Director on the technical areas of New Business Development, New Product Introduction, and continuous improvement initiatives. Drives gross profit through account planning, resource planning and allocation. Proactively develops and maintains a team of high‐performing engineering team and continually seeks innovative methods for improving team performance and profitability.

    • Continuously drive safety, efficiency and quality in supplier selection, tool design and secondary equipment design processes.
    • Ensure Health and Safety compliance of all engineering functions and activities.
    • Work closely with all process owners. Manage communication of project progress and status, including communication of assigned activities, with both internal and external (customers, partners, etc.) project team members.
    • Support and help drive the Grantfen mission statement, management objectives, Quality Management System (QMS) and key performance indicators (KPI).
    • Manage, develop, and strengthen the Project and Service engineering staff.
    • Promote best practices among teams across all departments without creating silos; drive and develop training for continuous improvement.
    • Establish department goals and supporting metrics based on company objectives.
    • Overall responsibility for P&L of the engineering department.
    • Review and evaluate cost estimates, variation orders and related financial impact analyses. (Contract review and sign off)
    • Lead, organize and review the work of subordinate employees.
    • Ensure project compliance with appropriate EN Standards, local laws, rules, and regulations as per SSAIB guidelines.
    • Communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
    • Perform research and solve multi-disciplinary engineering problems.
    • Develop, review, and modify engineering plans, designs, and specifications as required.
    • Prepare clear and concise reports for the senior management team.
    • Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
    • Build the engineering structure to scale and grow with the strategy of the company including regular apprenticeship intake schemes.
    • Additional duties as assigned.
