Assistant Buyer
We have a fantastic opportunity for an
Assistant Buyer to join a successful, innovative and growing specialist vehicle manufacturer.


Equi-Trek Limited are going from strength to strength and have recently added blue light vehicles to our portfolio of motorhomes, trailers and equine transport.

We are looking for the right person to join our Purchasing Team to maintain relationships with current suppliers and establish new ones, purchase ordering and monitoring stock control and sourcing new products.


Overview:

This role is a critical position required to support the current and future growth of the Equi-Trek business.

You will focus on a range of tasks involved in keeping the material for production flowing while ensuring the best possible inventory levels and costs are achieved.


Responsibilities:


  • Ensure the accurate and timely supply of materials, goods, and equipment meets demand.
  • Collaborate with engineering, sales, and production teams to facilitate effective demand planning whilst considering warehousing constraints.
  • Seek the best possible price and service with suppliers, identifying and onboarding new ones where necessary.
  • Problem solve and successfully build on the processes and procedures that are in place already.
  • Work closely with the production team to ensure delivery targets are achieved.

Experience & Skills:


  • A degree in business, supply chain, or related fields with at least 23 years relevant experience.
  • Strong Excel and ERP skills.
  • Proven experience developing supplier relationships, managing vendor performance, and successful negotiations.
  • Background in manufacturing/engineering essential.
