In a rapidly changing market, they are committed to building a workforce for the future and now seek ambitious procurement professionals to join their mission to build a sustainable future for millions.

You will work from a prestigious office 1-2 days a week (or 5, if you prefer), and join an established procurement team, where you will strive to implement innovative procurement strategies for construction goods and services whilst supporting the businesses infrastructure. To achieve this, you will:

    • Utilize your extensive market knowledge and tools such as Porters Five Force and Kraljic, to identify cost drivers.
    • Develop innovative category management strategies, through collaboration with the company's stakeholders, to drive cost cutting.
    • Spearhead procurement tenders in accordance with your procurement strategies.
    • Lead contract negotiations to maximize margins and maintain supplier relations.
    • Protect the company's supply continuity, alongside the SME teams, by implementing effective risk management strategies.

This is a Construction Procurement Category Buyer position. As such, you must have a broad knowledge of the construction procurement process - including varying types of contracts, project management, and stakeholder interaction. You will also understand NEC4 and Fidic, and ideally have exposure to operations and maintenance services.

Investing in the future is at the heart of this company's values. Therefore, they invite applications from candidates who may not tick all the boxes but are keen to learn, develop and eventually spearhead their procurement processes.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an individual who wants to join an established procurement team and help millions across the country live a cheaper, more sustainable life for years to come.

Candidates must have full rights to work in the UK and be 100% business fluent in English.
