Robertson Bell is working with a well-known charitable organisation, based in Birmingham, to help them recruit a General Ledger Lead for their team.

The position will play a key role in improving processes and procedures, as well as leading on statutoryaccounts and regulatory reporting.

The General Ledger lead also offers the potential to take on the responsibility of supervising the day-to-day duties of the transactions team.

The main duties of the General Ledger Lead are:

  • Supervising the productivity and deliverables of the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable team.
  • Taking responsibility for general ledger processes and ensuring that these are adhered to.
  • Working closely with the Line Manager and report any discrepancies regarding the financial controls frameworks and service standards.
  • Developing and implementing training for financial and nonfinancial staff members.
  • Maintaining relationships with both internal and external auditors and providing relevant information when needed.

  • Experience working in a transactional role of a similar nature with both sales and purchase ledger experience.
  • Currently within or an interest in being in the charity sector.
  • Proven ability to provide daytoday management and supervision of transactional staff.
  • Excellent empathy skills and able to provide solutions in an understanding and sensitive manner.
