  • This role offers hybrid working, and you will need to be able to travel to County Hall, Taunton, on a Tuesday & Thursday.
  • 25 days' annual leave (plus bank holidays) pro rata

What will I be doing?

The Children's Social Care Central Payments Team supports colleagues across the county in their work, safeguarding children and young people.


We're a busy team but we enjoy our work and feel we are making a valuable contribution to the work of the service.

We're working to improve the lives of children in Somerset - and you'll be a key part of that.

Your day-to-day work will involve:
- using a specialist database to setup and amend weekly payments to Foster Carers, Adopters, Special Guardians and Care Leavers
- banking, cash handling and reconciling petty cash.


What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?
We offer ongoing support, training and guidance to help you be the best you can be.

But it will really help if you:
- are proactive and can prioritise a varied workload.
- educated to O Level/ GCSE standard (Grade C or equivalent) including English Language and Maths, are numerate and confident in using IT
- have an understanding of working with sensitive and confidential information.

Anything else I should know?

The salary for the role is Grade 15, ranging from £18,435 to £18,741 per annum - this is based on 30 hours per week.
