We are delighted to be recruiting a customer focused Pre Works Surveyor to join our NPG (Northern Power Grid) team.


You will be conducting and assessing pre-site enablement of electrical and civil job requirements, to facilitate prompt completion of service cable replacement works in properties.


This role would suit someone with experience of working on property services such as electrical rewires or joiners, so to understand the construction and fabric of a home dwelling to enable us to create a plan for the installation of a new electric cable.


Here are some of the activities you will be involved with

  • Coordinate and manage the key requirements on all jobs, to ensure compliance with CDM Regulations (and or Highways) and any contract specific requirements
  • Liaise with stakeholders to ensure jobs are delivered as per agreed service levels
  • Ensure management of risk by identifying causes of uncertainty, then put in place activities to minimise the adverse impact
  • Ensure repair and maintenance teams follow the appropriate governance processes and procedures, to establish, manage and control jobs
  • Act as the key point of contact, working with Operational Front-Line Managers (FLMs) around plans/changes/new work requests to minimise last minute disruptions and promote best scheduling practice
  • Audit the root cause of aborted works, rework and Traffic Management Act (TMA) fines to mitigate reoccurrences and the lessons learnt.
  • Confirm all work complies with appropriate legislative quality standards as well as general compliance.

Can you do it?


Full valid driving license is essential, prior DNO (Distribution Network Operator) experience, knowledge of the utility sector and a NRSWA accreditation would be advantageous but not essential.
