    There is an exciting opportunity to join us in a role that is vital to our success. We are looking for a Signalling and Telecoms Maintenance Engineer (S&TME) to join our team to lead and direct the Cardiff Signal Maintenance team in the inspection, maintenance, and faulting response of functional signalling assets to standards and within budget.Your area of responsibility covers both mainline and rural routes throughout the South Wales corridor, which has varied designs of signalling equipment assets, ranging from older mechanical lever frame signalling to the more modern Solid State Interlockings.

    About the role (External)

    Your Main Responsibilities will be to:

    ·Lead and direct the Infrastructure Maintenance team to achieve business and functional objectives and meet key performance measures.

    ·Manage development of individuals and the engagement of the team.

    ·Manage the arrangements for staff safety and competence.

    ·Identify and implement safety, asset performance, reliability, productivity, and efficiency improvement initiatives.

    ·Ensure management of the correct inspection and maintenance regimes of all assets to NR/L2/SIG/10028, NR/L2/SIG/10661 & NR/L2/SIG/10665.

    ·Ensure management of the prioritisation of work and delivery to NR/L2/SIG/10661

    ·Periodically check and confirm that essential safety assurance, compliance, performance, and business processes are followed correctly by all direct and in-direct staff.

    ·Correctly identify any non-compliance to standards, submitting variations/deviations for approval to the Route Asset Management Team -ensuring all appropriate mitigation actions are correctly followed as required.

    ·Ensure the process for correct handover and accept back assets being renewed, installed, or modified by projects as per AMP, GRIP or PACE as per CDM regulations 2015.

    ·Ensure safe and reliable restoration of all signalling equipment to normal operation after completion of testing/investigation, providing maximum asset availability to the customer.

    ·Ensure that all equipment that has failed and/or been subject to an allegation and/or has been renewed as per NR/SMTH.

    ·Ensure that all Wrong Side failures are investigated thoroughly to identify root cause following the correct proforma test plans and escalation via SFI.

    ·Facilitate the investigation of all signalling repeat failures to identify root cause.

    ·Ensure that all asset defects and required renewals are submitted to the RAM annually to construct a maintenance delivered signalling renewal programmes, and that all work completed withing maintenance is in accordance with the CDM regulations 2015 and AMP.

    ·Develop and authorise quarterly work plans and resource levels as per IMDM DU strategy.

    ·Review and approve method statements and/or plans for design and/or work activities as required.

    ·Undertake investigations and report on accidents/incidents.

    ·Carry out Level 3 SFI for both Cardiff and Shrewsbury DU's at a 1 in 5 frequency*

    You will ideally have

    ·Extensive technical knowledge of Signalling Systems including SSI, Modular, ERTMS, RRI, Mechanical interlockings, Level Crossings and Electronic transmission systems.

    ·Knowledge of maintenance management, processes, and techniques

    ·Knowledge of safety and compliance management processes and procedures.

    ·Detailed knowledge of relevant S&T standards and procedures.

    ·Knowledge and experience of the wider operational railway environment and impact

    ·Knowledge and appreciation / experience of all other functional disciplines

    ·IRSE Licence holder of Senior Engineering Manager.

    ·Knowledge and Experience of Accident & Incident Investigation.

    ·Good interpersonal, influencing, communication and organisation skills.

    • Nodi'n gywir unrhyw ddiffyg cydymffurfio â safonau, gan gyflwyno amrywiadau/gwyriadau i'w cymeradwyo i'r Tîm Rheoli Asedau Llwybr - gan sicrhau bod yr holl gamau lliniaru priodol yn cael eu dilyn yn gywir yn ôl yr angen.

    • Sicrhau bod y broses gywir o drosglwyddo a derbyn asedau yn ôl yn cael eu hadnewyddu, eu gosod, neu eu haddasu gan brosiectau yn unol â AMP, GRIP neu PACE yn unol â rheoliadau CDM 2015.

    • Sicrhau adferiad diogel a dibynadwy o'r holl offer signalau i weithrediad arferol ar ôl cwblhau'r profion/ymchwiliad, gan ddarparu'r mwyafswm o asedau sydd ar gael i'r cwsmer.

    • Sicrhau bod yr holl offer sydd wedi methu a/neu wedi bod yn destun honiad a/neu wedi'u hadnewyddu yn unol â NR/SMTH.

    • Sicrhau yr ymchwilir yn drylwyr i holl fethiannau'r Ochr Anghywir er mwyn nodi'r achos sylfaenol yn dilyn y cynlluniau prawf profforma cywir a'u huwchgyfeirio drwy'r SFI.

    • Hwyluso'r ymchwiliad i'r holl fethiannau signalau ailadroddus i nodi'r achos sylfaenol.

    • Sicrhau bod yr holl ddiffygion asedau ac adnewyddiadau gofynnol yn cael eu cyflwyno i'r RAM yn flynyddol i lunio rhaglenni adnewyddu signalau a gyflawnir gan waith cynnal a chadw, a bod yr holl waith a wneir gyda gwaith cynnal a chadw yn unol â rheoliadau CDM 2015 ac AMP.
