Weare currently seeking a Registered Nurses to work in our 10 bedded In-PatientUnit (IPU) as part of our multi-disciplinary team to assist in the provision ofhigh level specialist palliative care.
Main duties of the job
Workingas part of the Teesside Hospice multi-disciplinary team in our 10 bedin-patient unit, were sure you will find working with us rewarding. Everyoneat Teesside Hospice is passionate about delivering excellent standards ofpalliative care that meets the needs of those living with a life limitingillness and those at the end of their life.
Theideal candidate will have:
A current NMC registration
Relevant post-registration experience
Excellent communication and team working skills and a can-doattitude
The desire an ability to work within a palliative care settingand to fully understand each patients individual needs
Thesuccessful candidate will be joining an organisation which is forward thinking,caring and supportive and you will be playing an important role in enabling usto provide our highly valued specialist palliative and end-of-life care to thepeople of Teesside.
About us
Teesside Hospice is a charity providing palliative and end of life care in its in-patient unit, alongside lymphoedema treatment, wellbeing and bereavement support to communities across North and South Tees, Cleveland and North Yorkshire.
Job descriptionJob responsibilities
The Nurse is responsible for assisting, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care under minimum supervision. This includes supervision of both qualified and support staff, and of student nurses during their allocation. As IPU provides twenty-four hour care a willingness to work days and nights is preferred.
The Nurse will work within the framework of the Multidisciplinary team providing a high standard of care for the patients and support for their relatives and to assist in the nursing team development by keeping abreast of change, involving evidence base and directives from government/organisational policies.
The post holder is requiredto have first level registration.Previous Palliative Care experience would be an advantage.
