Design Engineer, Bristol


If you enjoy solving engineering challenges, we have an exciting opportunity for a
Design Engineer, who will be responsible for the design and development of forming tool technology, taking the product from concept to production ready.


_What does the role involve?_

  • Designing forming tooling for production, along with jigs and fixtures for testing
  • Modifying and maintaining technical drawings
  • Providing technical input into product design and during transfer of the concept product to manufacture
  • Working with the wider Engineering Team on production machine improvements, including the design of all necessary tooling to enable machine upgrades
  • Producing work instructions for the design of standard forming tooling and any other standard design work carried out within the team
  • Providing technical support to external tooling manufacturers globally
  • Driving continuous improvement activities to support improved quality, cost and on time delivery
  • Raising Non-Conformance Reports and assisting on their resolution, as required

We are looking for someone who can design and development formingtool technology, whilst supporting with technical expertise for both projects and product development.

  • You have either a degree in mechanical engineering or the equivalent experience working within an engineering manufacturing business.
  • You have experience of creating technical drawings for manufacture in 2D, 3D and CAD and to the BS8888 or equivalent standard.
  • Ideally you will have a good understanding of modern tooling manufacture.
  • You enjoy problem solving in a collaborative environment and are confident working independently or as part of a team.
