    Job overview

This is a split post between Orthodontic and Restorative specialities. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary laboratory team, the post-holder will be responsible for carrying out the planning design and construction of a broad range of primary orthodontic and restorative appliances for the Trust's patients using analogue and CAD/CAM techniques. A close working relationship is expected with the wider multi-disciplinary clinical teams to deliver a high quality, effective and efficient service.

Please note - that prior to interview, a Values Based Interview will be carried out with the applicants. If successful at VBI then an interview will follow - including a same-day trade test. Applicants will be asked to bring their own work instruments on the day.

    Main duties of the job

Following a prescription, assess individual units of work prior to construction for possible technical/clinical complications relating to the construction of custom-made appliances, and effectively communicate ways of over-coming them with relevant members of the laboratory and clinical team assuring quality of all appliances constructed.

Complying with the Trust's, Departmental, Medicines and Healthcare Regulation Authority (MHRA) and Medical Devices Regulation (MDR) procedures, the post-holder will be expected to autonomously deliver an Orthodontic and Restorative Laboratory Service under the guidance of the laboratory manager and specialist technical staff.
