Rate:
£35.00 per hour umbrella
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Planning Enforcement Officer to join a Local Authority in East London.
In this role, you will play a crucial part in managing a diverse caseload of planning enforcement breaches, utilising your expertise in navigating the intricacies of planning regulations and legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage a busy and varied caseload of different types of planning enforcement breaches.
Conduct thorough investigations, site visits, and assessments against relevant laws and regulations.
Make recommendations based on your findings.
Serve enforcement notices and provide evidence of notices personally served.
Write appeal statements and represent the Council at hearings, inquiries, or court proceedings.
Provide assistance, advice, and support to team members.
Respond to public inquiries, Councillor queries, and MP complaints.
Requirements:
Recent experience in managing a busy caseload of planning enforcement breaches.
Extensive knowledge of the planning system, legislation, regulations, and policy guidance.
Ability to work under pressure and handle competing priorities.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills for dealing with various stakeholders.
Ability to maintain clear and accurate records that can be used as evidence
