Teaching Assistant - Abbots Langley, Hertfordshire

We are seeking a Teaching Assistant to join a wonderful school located in Abbots Langley As a Teaching Assistant you will be required to support children with severe learning difficulties and Autism.

Some pupils have additional needs such as visual, hearing or sensory impairment or a physical disability so as a Teaching Assistant you will need to be comfortable working with children who have SEN.

This Teaching Assistant position is a full time role from Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4pm.

Ideally you have previous experience within a school setting as a Teaching Assistant but you must have previous experience working with SEN children in some form of capacity.

The school is organised into 3 departments; Early Years, Middle School and Upper School Enterprise
The school was awarded the Autism Accreditation in recognition of meeting high quality autism provision

Staff constantly look for new opportunities to extend their own learning, which in turn provides increased experiences for all children

The Role

Support and look after children's physical, social and emotional welfare as a Teaching Assistant
Create a stimulating and safe environment for the pupils as a Teaching Assistant
Able to provide a safe and healthy environment and follow safeguarding procedures as a Teaching Assistant
You will also get the opportunity to work as a general Teaching Assistant throughout the week to support children with their learning and development
Ideally have some form of experience as a Primary School Classroom Assistant or experience with SEN children in an alternate setting

Requirements:

Available immediately and able to work Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4pm
Ideally have previous experience with SEN children in some capacity though the key is to have a bright and bubbly personality towards helping all children
Need to have patience and sensitivity in order to attend to children's needs as a Teaching Assistant
Ability to build good working relationships with both pupils and adults as a Teaching Assistant
Either live in Abbots Langley, or within a commutable distance
