Teaching Assistant - Abbots Langley, Hertfordshire


We are seeking a Teaching Assistant to join a wonderful school located in Abbots Langley As a Teaching Assistant you will be required to support children with severe learning difficulties and Autism.

Some pupils have additional needs such as visual, hearing or sensory impairment or a physical disability so as a Teaching Assistant you will need to be comfortable working with children who have SEN.

This Teaching Assistant position is a full time role from Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4pm.


Ideally you have previous experience within a school setting as a Teaching Assistant but you must have previous experience working with SEN children in some form of capacity.

The Role

  • Support and look after children's physical, social and emotional welfare as a Teaching Assistant
  • Create a stimulating and safe environment for the pupils as a Teaching Assistant
  • Able to provide a safe and healthy environment and follow safeguarding procedures as a Teaching Assistant
  • You will also get the opportunity to work as a general Teaching Assistant throughout the week to support children with their learning and development
  • Ideally have some form of experience as a Primary School Classroom Assistant or experience with SEN children in an alternate setting

Requirements:


  • Available immediately and able to work Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4pm
  • Ideally have previous experience with SEN children in some capacity though the key is to have a bright and bubbly personality towards helping all children
  • Need to have patience and sensitivity in order to attend to children's needs as a Teaching Assistant
  • Ability to build good working relationships with both pupils and adults as a Teaching Assistant
  • Either live in Abbots Langley, or within a commutable distance

Pay rate is dependent on qualifications, experience and skills.

£70.00-£85.00 per day
