    Transport and Plant Manager – £50K, Lowery Ltd, Cranleigh, Surrey GU6 8EH.

    Would you like to work for a friendly, supportive, small engineering company, managing their fleet of 60 vehicles under 3.

    5 tone and overseeing purchase, hiring and maintenance of plant?

    Lowery is an engineering company mainly in the rail and power sectors, known for our great quality, delivery, and honesty.

    Our main clients are Network Rail, and Tier 1 contractors such as Skanska, BAM Nuttal, etc

    You will efficiently and effectively manage the maintenance, procurement, allocation, and utilisation of vehicles, and oversee management of machinery, equipment, and maintain the culture of safety, compliance, and customer service within the team.


    Transport

    We have a fleet of 60 vehicles, with a mixture of vans, welfare units, welfare vans, and light good vehicles, all under 3.Monitoring and analysing transportation costs, identifying areas for improvement and cost reduction.

    Organising the company's transport fleet efficiently, ensuring compliance with regulations and maintenance schedules to ensure a safe, compliant, reliable fleet to a high standard, maintaining FORS accreditation, and successfully passing audits.

    Collaborating with other departments to streamline processes and enhance overall operational efficiency, ensuring timely delivery of materials and equipment for project requirements.

    Planning and managing transportation logistics for materials, equipment, and personnel to sites.

    Plant
    Overseeing the Plant and Transport Controller who procures, maintains and hires equipment, ensuring availability, reliability, and cost efficiency.

    Together with the Plant and Transport Controller, developing and implementing maintenance schedules and procedures to maximise efficiency and availability and monitoring equipment performance to recommend upgrades or replacements when necessary.

    Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards, conducting regular safety inspections and training sessions.

    Certificate of Professional competence (CPC) in Transport Management.
    ~2 years proven experience in transport and plant management.
    ~ Knowledge of logistics and supply chain management principles.
    ~ Proficiency in using relevant software and systems for fleet and equipment management.
