    Job Description Internal Sales Engineer / Account Manager – STEM Graduate

    Are you technically educated in areas such as mechanical engineering or science and enjoy interacting with clients to understand their application challenges?

    My client is a global leader in the design, development, and production of technical components and systems relied upon in some of the world's most demanding applications.

    They have secured some fascinating projects in the medical, metrology, life science and industrial sectors, with some of their most recognisable wins within space exploration.

    They now seek an Internal Sales Engineer / Account Manager to maintain existing UK customer relationships and follow up on incoming inquiries.

    Based from my client's office, with daily support from a team of technical and commercial industry experts, you will be responsible for:

    Liaising with both industrial and academic customers across the UK.
    Working on customer projects with a typical gestation period from 1 to 3 months.
    Passing larger projects to the external sales team.
    Forging solid relationships with key decision-makers including Professors, Engineering Managers, Project Engineers, and Design Engineers.
    Understanding customer project needs and providing guidance and input on the best-proposed solution.
    Handling both technical and commercial inquiries from your customer base.
    Maintaining, updating, and administering the CRM database.

    My client would encourage the opportunity to spend some time in the field with the external sales engineers, allowing you to build your client-facing skills and also your understanding of customer applications.

    You will ideally possess a technical education within an Engineering or Scientific discipline such as mechanical engineering, physics, chemistry or affiliated.

    Alongside your academic flair, you must possess great communication skills and enjoy speaking with clients in both academia and industry.

    Previous experience in customer interaction roles such as sales, account management, product specialist, and applications engineering would be highly advantageous but not essential should somebody demonstrate the aptitude to learn.
