    and main responsibilities

    We are looking for an SLT who is keen to extend their knowledge and develop new skill sets and has an interest in participating in research projects. Previous experience in the field of spinal injury is not essential and we would welcome applications from SLTs with experience in adult acute/ rehabilitation settings or voice where skills will be transferable. You must be able to manage a dysphagia caseload independently.

    Knowledge & Experience

    Essential criteria

  • Assessment treatment and management of highly complex clients with voice, speech, language and communication difficulties with well-established knowledge of assessment tools relevant to the neurological / acute client group with speech language and communication, and swallowing difficulties.
  • Working with clients with highly complex dysphagia, including critical care, with knowledge of instrumental assessments.
  • Well established knowledge of a range of appropriate therapeutic interventions relevant to the above client group, including knowledge of the range of alternative / augmentative communication systems available to the neurological / acute client group.
  • Working with carers & MDT
  • Experience of developing, delivering and evaluating training.
  • Education/ Qualifications

    Essential criteria

  • Recognised Speech and Language Therapy Degree Qualification or equivalent
  • Health Care Professions Council – Licence to Practice
  • Experiential training to demonstrate highly specialist skills
  • Desirable criteria

  • Competence in VFS (Level 3)
  • Competence in FEES (Level 2)
