- NMC Registered Nurse with qualification relevant to the defined clinical area i.e. Mental Health or Learning Disability
- Evidence of willingness to commit to continuous professional development including Flying Start Development Programme or equivalent
- Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Awareness of relevant legislation, policies, standards, best practice statements, guidelines and capability frameworks

The registered nurse has delegated responsibility for the appraisal and clinical supervision of students and clinical / healthcare support workers in provision of care and treatment within a defined clinical service, under the management and leadership of the team leader / senior charge nurse or practitioner
