    THE OPPORTUNITY

    Sii UK are hiring for a role of a System Engineer, based in Stevenage or in a commutable area as the role requires coming to the office for 3 days per week.

    SKILLS REQUIRED:

    To excel in this role, you should possess experience in the following:

    • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems engineering, with a focus on missile architecture and defence systems.
    • Proficiency in systems engineering methodologies, tools, and processes.

    TASKS:

    The primary activities encompass, but are not limited to, the following:

    • Missile System Design: Lead the design and development of missile architectures, ensuring compliance with customer requirements, performance specifications, and industry standards.
    • Requirements Analysis: Conduct thorough analysis of system requirements, translating operational needs into technical specifications.
    • System Integration: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate various subsystems, including propulsion, guidance, navigation, and control systems, into a cohesive missile architecture.
    • Performance Optimisation: Employ analytical techniques and simulation tools to optimise missile performance across a range of operational scenarios, considering factors such as speed, range, accuracy, and survivability.
    • Risk Assessment: Identify and mitigate technical risks associated with missile architecture, conducting risk analyses and implementing risk mitigation strategies as necessary.
    • Testing and Validation: Develop comprehensive test plans and procedures to validate missile architectures through rigorous testing, including ground tests, flight tests, and simulation-based assessments.
    • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare technical documentation, including system specifications, design documentation, test reports, and engineering analyses. Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders and senior management.
    • Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in missile architecture and systems engineering. Identify opportunities for innovation and process improvement within the organization.
