Akton recruitment are currently working with a Local Authority in Havering who are looking to recruit an experienced and qualified Social Worker to join their team.

This is a great opportunity for a long term temporary contract.


Purpose of role:


Key Accountabilities:


  • Holds and manages varied caseload, reflecting the function of the team in accordance with procedures, guidelines and legislation.
  • Assesses and analyses need, contributing to, and implementing support plans; reviewing progress against identified outcomes.
  • Demonstrates sound professional judgement. Plans are implemented and reviewed to improve outcomes for the service user and/or carer. Analysis is effective in identifying risk and need.
  • Maintains regular supervision through regular meetings and briefings, in line with the department's supervision policy. Contributes to the development of other workers, sharing knowledge and skills, as appropriate.
  • Ensures that expenditure on cases is properly authorised and recorded, in line with departmental procedures.
  • Keeps uptodate and acts in accordance with current legislation and departmental practice and initiatives.
  • Be willing to train and practice as an approved mental health practitioner, providing assessments as required by the Mental Health Acts and 2007)
  • Maintains and develops uptodate knowledge and relevant skills through continued learning.

Experience:

*Significant experience of work within mental health and /or Adult services, including assessments and statutory work.
*Experience of multi-disciplinary inter-agency basis and ability to negotiate on behalf of customers and carers.
*Experience of adult safeguarding/protection work.
*Experience of statutory work in relation to Adults.

Qualifications
*CQSW, Diploma or Degree in Social Work, CSS or equivalent.
*To progress to, or be appointed at, PO2: successful completion of ASYE programme.
*Current HCPC registration.
*AMHP Status or willingness to become an AMHP


Other requirements:

*DBS clearance
*Car driver and clean licence
