In our busy Public Transport department we support thousands of children and Kent residents every day to move about the County and get to school, work and access other essential services.

As a Public Transport Support Officer, you'll have an incredibly varied role.

You will provide admin support to the Public Transport Senior Management Team and support the Local Bus and Schools Transport Team assisting with stakeholder communications, the handling of complaints and correspondence, routine schools transport and bus enquiries and other general administrative support across the department.


While you'll work collaboratively with a range of audiences, you'll also create positive working relationships with our suppliers and clients.

As part of your daily routine, you will, assist with stakeholder communications, managing the impact of road closures, arranging bus stop suspensions, production and distribution of bus passes, managing team mailboxes coordinating and providing responses to routine correspondence, use bespoke IT systems to manage customer service enquiries and records maintaining accurate client, contract and financial records, Support with the coordination and minute taking of meetings, attending, and participating in off-site meetings and operations.

To succeed, you'll be organised, passionate about supporting the people of Kent, and have a keen eye for transport.

As a real people person with customer service experience, you'll be confident talking to different people in potentially challenging situations.

You'll work from home for part of the week and with your colleagues in our office at Aylesford when required to do so and be flexible working 37 hours per week usually between the hours of 08:00 -17:00.

This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position.
