    Responsibilities

    We are looking for a Data Engineering Specialist to fulfil the following responsibilities:

  • Designs, builds, tests and maintains reporting data stores and data pipelines and services, consistently looking to make improvements to efficiency in order to reduce running times and costs.
  • Regular reviewer of others' work, raising issues as appropriate. May assist with a quality control function.
  • Supports and guides consultants during the investigation of issues, knowing when to step in and when to encourage more independence.
  • Supporting more junior members of the team with the development of their technical knowledge.
  • Able to look at existing solutions and diagnose issues, with the goal of making improvements to efficiency in order to reduce running times and costs.
  • Works to ensure that available data meets business requirements and user needs.
  • Develops and maintains robust, performant data integration and transformation routines and services.
  • Maximises the automation, scalability and reliability of data services, focusing on opportunities for reuse, adaptation and efficient engineering.
  • Effectively documents their work in an understandable way to ensure smoother handovers.
  • Consults the client on best practices and provides solutions for complex data challenges.
  • Works collaboratively with the front-end developers, UX researchers, source system administrators, etc. to ensure a smooth end to end process.
