    Job summary

    There are opportunities for an experienced qualified nurse to become Charge Nurse on Maple Ward which is the older adults ward based at Park House in North Manchester General HospitalMaple is a mixed organic and functional ward caring for 20 females predominantly over the age of 65 years.

    The posy holder will be required to work a combination of days and nights across a 7 day period.

    Main duties of the job

    To assist the Ward Manager in providing leadership and operational management to the ward, ensuring the provision of quality nursing care to all service users

    The post holder will assess, plan and implement care, and provide specialist nursing advice, and carry out nursing procedures

    They will provide clinical and managerial leadership to junior staff, and provide supervision to junior staff and students

    To support the Ward Manager in the implementation and sustainment of quality improvement projects on the ward

    To act as a positive role model to the team, demonstrating the core values of Greater Manchester Mental Health Trust

    To provide 24 hour senior nurse input to the unit and liaise with other agencies to support this duty
