    What to Expect

    We are currently seeking a dynamic Whole Vehicle Studio/Packaging Engineer to join our Studio Engineering team whose purpose is to ensure that the integrity of the design is maintained whilst delivering a feasible vehicle.

    As a Concept Whole Vehicle Studio Engineer, you will be responsible the generation of CAD schemes to support the Design Concepts with credible upper and underbody package in Pre KO phase across all JLR projects. You will also be responsible for cross team skill / geometry development and cross programme / vehicle line specialist support for the team and Management.

    Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

    • Support the development of Design Creative Methods & Tools through liaison with Technical Specialists and Subject Matter Experts to validate the Design Concept.
    • Support the team of Technical Specialists & Subject Matter Experts within the Design Creative team to deliver Design concept proposals for the whole vehicle & system requirements and evolve them commensurate with changes in the automotive landscape.
    • Support Benchmarking / Knowledge Centre activities for the Design Technical Creative team. Ensure Benchmarking / Knowledge centre is up to date and value progression over time of all Upper body & Underbody area Knowledge Based Tools.
    • Support the skills development within the wider Design Technical Creative team for the technical methods and toolsets to ensure the technical competencies within the team are developed.

    What You'll Need

    • In-depth knowledge and technical expertise in all matters concerning automotive occupant layout and design.
    • Expert CAD drafting knowledge, specifically within Catia V6, ENOVIA, CATIA V5 & TCE.
    • The ability to communicate, influence and build relationships effectively at all levels of seniority within the business.
    • Ability to think creatively to solve 3Dimensional (3D) technical/feasibility issues.
    • A Specialist understanding / working experience within an Engineering environment delivering vehicle package, system, component, or attribute driven technical solutions.
    • Capable of developing Design technical strategies and delivering them within the wider team.
    • Experience of working within the Studio / Packaging environment and good communication skills with people of all levels and expertise; notably design, marketing and engineering.
