What's the opportunity

Reporting to the Indirect Purchasing Manager, you will lead sourcing initiatives, negotiate complex contracts, and mentor junior team members to drive operational excellence and achieve cost savings targets.

What you will do:

• Develop and implement category strategies for complex & high-value indirect spend categories, aligning procurement activities with organisational goals and objectives.

• Conduct market analysis, supplier segmentation, and risk assessments to inform category strategies and identify opportunities for value creation.

• Lead strategic sourcing initiatives, including supplier selection, RFx processes, and contract negotiations, to secure optimal terms and conditions for contracts and agreements.

• Drive cost reduction and value enhancement through innovative sourcing strategies, supplier collaboration, and demand management initiatives.

• Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers, acting as the primary point of contact and driving continuous improvement in supplier performance.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop joint improvement plans, resolve issues, and optimise supplier partnerships.

• Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness of procurement activities and track performance against targets.

• Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting achievements, cost savings, and opportunities for improvement.

Who you are:

• Experience in purchasing roles, with a focus on indirect procurement.

• Experience includes Marketing, Professional Services, Property, Facilities, HR, Engineering Services, IT Software & Hardware, Design Services, Automotive Sales Infrastructure (desirable)

• Autonomy in leading category areas and driving positive collaboration with internal stakeholders.

• Strong negotiation skills and ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers.

• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Proficiency in purchasing tools and technologies, such as eSourcing platforms and ERP systems.

• Knowledge of purchasing best practices, contract law, and regulatory requirements.
