This role is open to any relevant therapist who have experience of working within critical are and the associated problems and issues patient present with following prolonged critical illness.

You will provide comprehensive assessments for patients and liaise with relevant community and acute services to plan individual patient plans.


Our friendly department is full of opportunity for a dynamic, enthusiastic therapist who wishes to progress specialist clinical expertise and leadership skills.

This post would be have the flexibility to work across our acute sites and would have a predominately outpatient caseload but a clinical caseload within ICU can be included in the role.

You will have the opportunity to work with many members of the MDT who are experts in their field.


We are looking for an experienced band 6 or current band 7 therapist, with a keen interest and understanding of the therapy needs of patients from admission to discharge from critical care.

You will have a wide range of clinical experience, good communication skills, interpersonal skills and a passion for delivering excellent patient centred care.

You will have the opportunity to develop your specialist skills and experience of an innovative service and its continued evaluation and re-design.

We offer a comprehensive in-service training and induction programme. Internal and external courses are supported, and opportunities for postgraduate study exist.


The post holder will be responsible for the running and evaluation of post ICU follow-up service for patients with prolonged admission to critical care.

As a Band 7 Specialist Therapist the post holder will be responsible for performing advance assessment for patients with diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions, to develop and deliver an individualised treatment programme.

Following assessment the post holder will be responsible for making clinical diagnoses and treating your own caseload of specialised and complex patients/clients & maintaining associated records.


The post holder may lead a team and be responsible for providing an advanced standard of care to patients at Imperial College NHS Healthcare Trust, which cover a multi-cultural and diverse population.

The post holder will assist the service lead therapist in contributing to the planning, coordination, development and evaluation of the service.

Together with other senior staff, you will act as a resource of specialist advice to the rest of the therapy service and other professions.


For appropriate therapy groups, the post holder will participate in the out of hour's service (orthopaedic or respiratory weekends/ respiratory on call).

Those staff joining the respiratory on call/ orthopaedic out of hours rota will do so once they have completed the relevant induction and achieved the required competencies.
