    Description

    Our client plays a critical role to the development and safe operation of the electricity transmission grid in Northern Ireland.

    A purpose lead organisation with plans to transform the power system to enable our society to reduce our carbon emissions and meet our climate change and net zero ambitions.

    You will have the opportunity to join this excellent organisation in a newly created full time, permanent Financial Accountant role.

    The Role;

    • Supporting the preparation of monthly and quarterly internal and external financial reporting to various stakeholders.
    • Preparing month end financial reports for the Senior Financial Controller.
    • Preparing annual statutory and regulatory accounts for the Financial Controller.
    • Producing Cashflow analysis to feed into the Treasury Management processes.
    • Support the annual internal and external audit processes.
    • Prepare the annual budget, business partnering with all areas of the business.
    • Reporting on on-going projects to business managers on a regular basis.
    • Internal regulatory reporting to Financial Controller, Head of Finance and Legal and Group Finance.
    • Working closely with the NI Regulation Team in preparing regulatory submissions to the Northern Ireland Authority for utility Regulation.
    • Managing the finance system (Microsoft Dynamics) ensuring effective and efficient processing of financial data.
    • Producing general ledger analysis to feed into the Corporation Tax computations
    • Driving efficiencies through process improvements.

    What we are looking for;

    • Recently qualified Big 4/Top 10 practice trained accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) with 2+ years post qualification experience or equivalent.
    • Advanced skills in MS Office including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
    • High standards of accuracy and attention to detail.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Effective influencer and willing to challenge the status quo in the interests of delivering change.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to collaborate and work effectively as part of a team.
    • A strong interest in systems and technology and willingness to develop skills in this area.
