Wye Valley NHS Trust's Department of Haematology is seeking to recruit Consultant Haematologist to join the current team and consolidate a sustainable consultant-delivered service to the population of Herefordshire and East Powys.
The department offers first class care within high quality, dedicated facilities, delivered by a friendly team which provides a comprehensive range of services up to Level 2a.
Candidates with wide general training in Haematology are the priority and special skills to support or complement the existing consultants would be welcomed.
The department works closely with colleagues at Worcester Acute Trust (where MDT, level 2b and 3 services are centred) and colleagues at our main tertiary centre, the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham.
The Trust will offer relocation expenses up to £8K (in line with the Trust Recruitment Policy)Hands-on clinical involvement as a Consultant Haematologist, working closely with the 3 other Consultant Haematologists and 1 Associate Specialist and sharing responsibility for all haematology patients.
Participate in clinical trials and become Principle Investigator for appropriate studies.Liaising and developing working policies with the relevant hospital departments.
Liaising and developing working policies with local general practitioners, consultant colleagues, nurse practitioners and other relevant health professionals
Teaching and training students and medical staff at all levels as well as nurse practitioners, nurses and paramedical staff.
Active participation in clinical audit activities within the Department of Haematology and Trust-wide.Maintenance of CPD is expected and there is a trust-wide policy for study leave funding.

Full and Specialist registration (and with a licence to practise) with the General Medical Council (GMC), or be eligible for Specialist Registration within six months of interview.
Applicants that are UK trained, must ALSO be a holder of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), or be within six months of award of CCT by date of interviewProven experience as a clinical and laboratory haematologist
