    Teaching Personnel are currently working alongside multiple secondary schools in the Swansea area who are looking for support from an English Teacher.

    A Secondary English Teacher is responsible for teaching English to pupils in Key Stages 3 and 4 (aged 11 to 16 years).

    The job can be rewarding, working with young people at an age where they are starting to formulate their own ideas and reasoning strategies while studying English.

    A Secondary English Teacher will also be preparing pupils for their GCSE exams.

    Keeping a register of pupils' attendance, set assignments and homework, mark pupils work, record completion, write progress reports and carry out continuous assessment.

    You will plan English lessons to meet the national curriculum guidance, working with colleagues to coordinate lessons as needed, and giving direction to Teaching Assistants (TAs).

    Each class should include a balance of appropriate instruction, demonstration, and practice, using suitable activities to give pupils the maximum opportunity to learn.

    Maintaining order amongst your pupils by enforcing rules for good behaviour.
    If required, give feedback to any relevant external bodies concerning the progress, behaviour, and child protection issues.
    Hold a valid driving licence with access to own vehicle.
    Are a Qualified Teacher or in the process of gaining Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
    Excellent knowledge of English as a National Curriculum subject.
    Have experience of teaching English
    Excellent communication skills to engage with pupils.
    Commitment to safeguarding the welfare of children.
