    Description

    We are recruiting for a passionate and dedicated Health and Safety Advisor to champion safety excellence on the A303 Stonehenge project. Based from site and an office in Amesbury, you'll be at the forefront of ensuring the well-being of our teams and the success of our endeavors on the project.

    You'll be working on.... (what your role and responsibility is)

    • To drive and influence the correct behaviours through proactive action, communication, and education.
    • Work proactively with all employees, clients, and our supply chain to educate and support the continual drive towards sustainable improvements.
    • Support and advise in the production of safe systems of work that include core documents such as, Construction Phase Plans, Environmental management plans, Risk Assessments and Works Package Plans, to ensure a high standard of quality.
    • Support in the development of detailed and comprehensive toolbox talks.
    • Review and report on performance/compliance against the Business Management System
    • Focal point for the management of the internal D&A Testing and SHEQ Tours/Inspections within their operational areas.
    • Carry out regular site inspections to evaluate the effectiveness of the business management system, ensuring all those working with us comply. Produce detailed reports to support operational teams and follow through the actions with others.
    • Providing education and support in the interpretation and implementation of all SHE processes and procedures within the Business Management System.
    • Leading investigations of accidents, incidents and near misses, ensuring actions are completed and lessons learnt are implemented, shared, and remain effective.
    • Monitor SHE Performance, analyse trends and provide detailed reporting to the operational areas, supporting the development and implementation of improvement measures.
    • Maintain a high level of professional engagement and communication with internal peers to ensure a consistent approach to SHE is maintained.
    • Liaise with Client counterparts and representatives, work with them to ensure required standards are met, attend Client forums, workshops, near miss meetings and promote best practice.
    • Participate in the promotion of SHE programmes and schemes that we or our clients run and disseminate / develop this information within the business.
    • Communicate and encourage the use/trial of industry SHE innovations.

    About you.... (what you are skilled at)

    • Minimum of 2-years' experience in a similar role and working environment. (Civil Engineering/Construction)
    • Previous experience of working with management systems, policies and procedures.
    • Be confident in leading investigations and effective report writing.
    • Good knowledge of a wide range of SHE current best practice.
    • Be a confident and engaging individual, who can motivate others and who has strong influencing skills .
    • Manage the constraints of the operational environment, legislative and standards.
    • Demonstrate a high-level commitment to equality and diversity in the workplace.
    • Demonstrate creativity, initiative, diplomacy, resourcefulness and resilience, in a demanding and fast-paced environment.
    • Good working knowledge of Microsoft packages including Excel and Word.
    • Well-developed written communication skills with excellent ability to maintain confidentiality.
