    Are you looking to develop your skills within trauma? An opportunity has arisen within our Band 6 trauma and orthopaedic and vascular physiotherapy rotation. Substantive and fixed term opportunities may be available.

    We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 Physiotherapist to join our team. You will need to be able to manage a varying and complex caseload of in-patients and have experience of discharge planning. The post is rotational and involves 9 monthly rotations through a variety of areas including Major Trauma, elective Orthopaedics, trauma Orthopaedics and plastics, surgical rehabilitation, Vascular Surgery and amputee and prosthetic rehabilitation.

    Main duties of the job

    To provide high quality physiotherapy management to patients at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. To participate in a cross site rotational scheme, providing a high standard of physiotherapy to patients within acute rehabilitation. To perform advanced physiotherapeutic assessment of patients with diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions, to develop and deliver an individualised treatment programme.

    Education/ Qualifications

    Essential

  • oDegree (or equivalent) in Physiotherapy.
  • oState registration with the Health Professions Council.
  • oEvidence of CPD through maintenance of a portfolio.
  • oAble to demonstrate specialist learning from previous physiotherapy rotations, formal post-graduate level learning and informal CPD (both general and specific to clinical fields of speciality).
  • oDemonstrate learning of personal effectiveness and first line leadership from experience and from both formal and informal CPD activity.
  • Desirable

  • oMembership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
  • oMembership of CSP special interest groups relevant to speciality
  • Experience

    Essential

  • oRecent substantial and sustained experience in relevant physiotherapy specialities and clinical settings
  • oExperience of working as part of a physiotherapy and multidisciplinary team
  • oTo have participated in service development projects.
  • oExperience of clinical education of staff, students or assistants.
  • oExperience of supervision of students/ physiotherapy assistants, with development of basic supervision skills.
  • oDemonstrate an understanding of the use of evidence based practice in speciality
  • oExperience of on-call and weekend working in an acute hospital
  • oTo have undertaken audit and/or research, either within area of physiotherapy speciality or as part of the MDT
  • Desirable

  • oPrevious experience in the NHS as a qualified physiotherapist
  • oPrevious senior physiotherapist experience in relevant post
  • oInvolvement with Clinical Governance issues and an understanding of their relation to patient care
