Health, Safety, Environment and Sustainability (HSES) Advisor

My client are looking to add a Health Safety Environment & Sustainability (HSES) Advisor to their team to ensure that there is a proactive Health and Safety culture and to support and advise all staff and students

  • To deliver the organisations mission by providing appropriate Health & Safety and Environmental advice.
  • Assist in the development of and delivery of Health and Safety and Environmental training as requested.
  • To deputise for the Head of Health and Safety as required.
  • Draft and develop new procedures and standards as required in accordance with new developments and ensure staff are fully briefed and trained in their responsibility and role.
  • To support the HR team with occupational health related activities such as DSE and pregnancy risk assessments
  • Undertake departmental inspection/audits and accident/incident investigations as directed by the Head of Health & Safety.
  • Maintain accident records and statistics and ensure accident reports are prepared, reported and analysed in a timely manner.
  • Ensure the safe installation of equipment and that regular testing and inspection is carried out and recorded.
  • Coordinate the completion review and audit of Risk Assessments across the organisation to ensure robust Health and Safety arrangements are in place.
  • Liaise as appropriate with external organisations.
  • Prepare and complete Health and Safety reports, Risk Register and other associated polices procedures and documents as directed by the Head of Health and Safety.
  • Keep up to date with new legislation and maintaining a working knowledge of all Health and Safety Executive (HSE) legislation and any developments that affect the organisation.
  • To be part of the Incident Manager rota.
  • To actively participate in Continuous Professional Development including the introduction of new technologies to allow you to contribute effectively to the success of the organisation.

Requirements:


  • Minimum of a level 3 HSE qualification (IOSH Managing Safety/Nebosh Certificate).
  • Nebosh Fire Certificate advantageous
  • Grade C or above in Maths and English (or equivalent).
  • A commitment to undertake any mandatory training relevant to the role.

£30,000.00-£33,000.00 per year

Education:


  • A-Level or equivalent (preferred)
