    Account Manager – Medical Communications

    Position: Account Manager (Medical Affairs)

    Location: Hertfordshire (hybrid - 2 days per week in office)

    Contract Type: Permanent

    Salary: £40k+ (dependent on experience)

    Start: ASAP

    Senior Account Manager -

    The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on various projects across the full spectrum of medical communications activities, as well as work collaboratively with medical writers and creatives.

    Role & Responsibilities:

    • Has a thorough level of understanding of the medical communications environment
    • To lead/manage client accounts by taking responsibility for client service and financial delivery
    • Develop, plan, own, and deliver communication projects for clients, acting as the key point of contact for both internal and external (suppliers and client) stakeholders
    • Being accountable on projects, including having a clear picture of all aspects of the project(s) and delivery timelines, including highlighting issues and solutions to account leads in advance
    • Play a vital role in the continuous improvement of integrated project delivery operations
    • Excellent organisational skills and a good grasp of the critical nature of meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
    • Effective time management skills with the ability to delegate and manage both upward and downwards
    • Provide training and development support to the integrated Client Services Team, including taking responsibility for the line management of some team members
    • Provide account leads with support and appropriate updates to support strategic oversight of the account(s)
    • Establish trust with a client and develop and maintain strong relationships
    • Developing an understanding of new therapy areas quickly and comprehensively, inspiring confidence in the client
    • Contribute to strategic plans and proposals
    • Manage and take proactive steps to maximise client profitability through accurate budgeting and budget tracking
    • Actively participate in new business pitch teams through all stages of the planning process
    • Create new business opportunities with existing clients by identifying their needs and goals
    • Prepare/manage the delivery of weekly/monthly account status reports

    Requirements:

    • Degree (preferably life science)
    • High level of drive, motivation, and initiative
    • Ability to motivate, lead by example, train, mentor, develop and share best practice
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Organised with exceptional time management skills
    • Ability to problem-solve effectively and make decisions
    • Awareness of industry guidelines (ABPI) and best practice and their application
    • Experience working in Medical/Healthcare Communications (agency)
